Turbo power was considered back when they developed the current S2000. They rejected it because they think lag sucks. (I have a small coffee-table book on the S. It's got a few items not widely published elsewhere.)
If they've fixed turbo lag...
What I'd like to see (but won't happen) is a two new V6 engine series. The J series will need to be retired eventually. Replace it with a new X series engine with displacement from 2.6 - 3.2 liters. And also a larger series ranging from 3.5 - 4.0 liters.
The smaller one could be used in passenger cars, a new S2600, etc. Essentially an engine to serve as an economy block in mild tune and also to compete with BMWs small I6 engines when tuned for performance.
The larger one could be used to power the MDX, Pilot, Ridgeline, and the base RL.
