Much discussion has debated on when to make your first and future oil changes. I am not going to debate when and with oil to change but rather to find out what the Oil Life % inidcator measures. Can anyone point me to a link or describe what the Oil Life % monitor in the Ridgeline is representing? Is the percentage just a different representation of miles driven since last oil change or did Honda's engineering team provide some neat sensor technology to monitor other variables? Thanks.
It measures- hot-weather operation, short trips, stop and go,highway driving. Basically eliminates the need of figuring out what type of service schedule you should follow by doing it for you. It should also monitor standard maintenence - Tire rotation,auto-trans service, oil filter, oil changes and replacement of coolant, air cleaner and timing belt.
