Now that the news has leaked regarding the 2006 Civic's debut in the next month, the web has become abuzz with fresh speculation but not much spy content.
If you find articles or photos relating to the 2006 Civic which have been released THIS year, please post them to this thread. It would be nice to include any nuggets that Honda has thrown us directly, such as this quote from Takeo Fakui at NAIAS:
"This fall, we will begin launching an all-new Civic. This will be the 8th generation Civic ... with total global production now approximately 16 million units. And it remains a benchmark among compact cars. In order to exceed these global customer expectations, the next generation global Civic lineup will include 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-door models. It will be produced in all six of Honda's regional operations.
The concept for the new Civic will focus on emotion and a fun-to-drive spirit. I am excited about the ability of the new Civic lineup to meet the needs of people who love to drive. To achieve this direction ... we have designed a completely new engine and body.
In fact ... Civic will offer four advanced powerplants in its first year on the market. This is an industry first. The new Civic will have Honda's latest i-VTEC engine ... with new technology that achieves even higher fuel economy and low emissions. This means every Honda and Acura sold in the U.S. will have a next generation engine.
We also will introduce the Civic Diesel in Europe with Honda's award-winning diesel engine. The natural gas Civic is the cleanest internal combustion engine in the world and will continue to be made in Ohio. And a new Civic Hybrid will have a hybrid system with significantly higher fuel economy and performance."

Speculation is always fun, and pics and quotes are even better. Let's scour the net!

Guess we'll wait till Thursday, Feb. 10 to see it.....
Strange how time flies, but the 2005 model year is already 6 months into the year.. Honda appears to be very eager on releasing the 2006 model year. My guess, we'll see these in showrooms by May/June.

That would be nice but don't count on it. The car that's being shown is strictly a styling prototype (no interior or running gear). They're not close enough to production to actually release the car until the normal timeframe of Sept. If it were May/June they'd already be scheduling the press introduction for the next few weeks. The decision to show the concept at Chicago was very last minute, like as the Detroit show was just getting underway.
Yea not only that, that fella just like popped a spoiler to the back of the car.. seems to have the Merc E-Class "panoramic" roof too.. or even better if its like M3 CSL carbonfibre.. haha.. narhs, not for Civics anyways.. looking interesting so far
They changed the picture, this is not the same car that was originally posted. It sure looks like we have a new design!
I don't see the all glass roof (as in Scion tC)...which is GOOD.
haha, yea we are dorks, only the fiends like us ot TOV can have a page of postings on a grainy little photo showing maybe the rear quarter of what APEARS to be the next civic. but it is people like everyone here that keeps me comming back to this forum!!!
they are 2 seperate cars. if u look at the showfloor layout, Mazda is very close to HOnda distance wise. it was prob just a mazdaspeed 6 driving to its place. so teh pix we should really pay attention to is the coupe lookin one. :)
