'84 Accord sedan automatic (lockup?) problem

Hi all,
Hope you can help me on this.
My gearbox has been working fine all this time after the last rebuild but recently it's been running at quite a high RPM at 60+ MPH as compared to previously. (about 2600 vs. 2400). Sometimes, it even hunts between the 2600 and 2300 rpm when I pass 55 mph. Naturally, the car feels more powerful and more efficient if it uses 2400 at 60+mph
It's not a 4th gear failure because if I use 3rd at 55mph the engine would be at 3100+rpm. I'm guessing it's the torqu converter lockup acting up.
Can anyone tell me if this is an easy fix or what is causing it, preferably somone who knows this model well.
