Was in Bermuda for 12 days right after Christmas. Saw several of them down there. Did not get to ride in one. However, I believe that if you like the looks of the current Oddy, you will love this car. The family resemblance is unmistakeable.
I am personally very glad to hear this news. Been a Honda customer since 83 and so far nother manufacturer have won me over.
Way to go Honda!

i've been in one, and will possibly own one soon. honda sells the Fit in my country, and my dad (honda fan himself) wants to buy a new car from honda. the civic is too expensive, so the fit is the way to go, plus it's extremely economic.
i don't like the exterior styling too much, no really a fan of frog-eye headlights and small hood, and it's tall too. from the rear it does look good, much like a civic si.
the 1.3 liter engine produces 83 horses so, acceleration is not really good.
interior is the biggest plus, though i wish it didn't have a fixed cd player on the dash, because if i get one that'll be the first thing i'll want to change.

How does the interior compare to the Civic? ie, is it noticeably smaller or just barely? Or is it actually bigger inside?

i'd say the Fit is just slightly smaller than the civic inside. headroom is a plus though, and the trunk gets bigger thanks to folding rear seats.
Honda has done a good job of optimizing size of the Fit with the engine compartment being so small, so the cabin really loses nothing to a civic. perhaps a 95/100th scale of the civic.

ugh - this is killing me because i could swear i took some photos while i was in tochigi - now i can't seem to find them on my hard drive. The seats just fold almost completely out of the way - right into the floor - and it's very easy to do it too.
check the animation here: http://www.honda.co.jp/Fit/whatsfit/02-seatarrange/index.html
it kind of gives you an idea, but you really need to see it to truly appreciate it.
