I'm disappointed, as I was hoping to get one before the year end. I heard this rumor before, but has there been an official Honda comment about the reasons for delay?

Likely its a victim of the sedans success - no capacity for it.

Agree. Going to need a source on this one, not just a 1-sentence claim.

THIS SITE might be the source, I saw it this morning, and hope it's a sales tactic.

Build your coupe option now up on Honda's U.S. website.

It seems like Honda is keeping up their anti-stick schtick with the new Coupe.
Just like Henry Ford said, you can have any color, as long as it's black. In the LX-S and EX 6 speed, crystal black pearl is the color!
CVT's for everybody!

That looks like their "sampler" shipment. But it seems to demonstrate coupes are being assembled. My local "largest dealer in Pennsylvania" doesn't have any coupes listed in their inventory yet. I'll report when they do.

Does Honda have access to the internet? White & silver are the most popular new car colors.
Well Honda just eliminated the Accord coupe from consideration. I'm holding my breath now for the MMC '13 SI in white.

Yes, this is really bad. Even the V-6 6MT is color-restricted to Black, grey, or red. I want a white. Guess I'm holding onto my '98 coupe for another year until Honda wises up (hoping they wise up.)

Ok. Again, I don't know if it's going to be different for other regions, but for Norther VA, or Washington DC metro area,
I have talked to the regional manager as well as Fairfax Honda, and Alexandria Honda's GMs;
They confirmed their shipments this Friday night or Saturday morning. And they are not demo or sampler. they are going to be up for sale.
I got my wife the Sport model and I am dying to get my hands on the coupe despite the fact that Coupe is still $10 more than Sport model with less options. But I am waiting for one myself.

Wasn't the 9G coupe only kept alive because of the will of the large project manager? It doesn't even look like it got nearly as much attention to detail like the sedan.

Jshaw, I don't know how or why what is any more as far as what Honda marketing team is doing. But somehow my heart agrees with you. Other than that, I am rather pissed off at AHM for their playful? mind.

I must be missing something...
The Accord has had a coupe variant in the US for several generations, and it is a surprise one has turned up for the 9th Gen?

It is not a surprise at all. It's just that.. I can't feel the same excitement I got for getting a Sport model, while waiting for the coupe that I ordered. They killed awesome cars like S2k, Prelude, or any other "coupe" variants, replacing them with Accord Coupe because of the sales volume. Then I was hoping AHM at least upkeep the 2 door version as much exciting "coupe" as one can be- not just 2 door less. But for this particular 9th generation, like i mentioned on another discussion, it is priced $10 more than 4 door Sport trim with missing numerous features. So it's just my personal pent-up feeling that if you happened to be a coupe-lover, you-pay-more-for-less-increasing-our-profit-margin kind of attitude by AHM. All in all, what's really the reason for buying Accord Coupe other than you are just born to be a coupe-philic.
I am not saying (but also i don't mind) that Accord Coupe should be a complete different car; after all it's "Accord", but now they have this marketing idea of "introductory price" sign almost threatening us that coupe buyers are expected to be paying more-r for less-er? Not cool. Besides, we saw coupe version of 9th gen pictures first, not that they stretched it and made 4-dr versions. Actually it doesn't matter which got designed first and made its derivatives, or it was parallel development. But I can't help thinking that 2dr was less focused, or "cared."

The only Accord I will buy is the V6 6MT Coupe. Comparing that to the Sedan Touring, what features would I be missing?
|
JHe
 |
|
missing items: led brake light, no power Passenger seat, Avg.Speed info display, Travel Elapsed Time info Display
But you get 18".. then you have to pay about $300 more compared to EXL-V6 Sedan.
So.. I can leave with that, but my whining comes from the comparison between LXS and Sport.

To clear any confusion, I think I compared to V6 EXL, not touring model. Touring model got led headlights, adaptive cruise and so on..

Probably 4-way power passenger seat, as well. Main things are LED headlights and LED taillights.

Only since the camry coupe (solara) was dropped (and the convertible variant, too). The Altima coupe is severely delayed and castrated (i4 CVT only) and is still based on the previous generation. No Fusion coupe, either. Only real deal is the Genesis coupe.
So, yes. It's somewhat of a surprise Honda even decided to keep the Accord coupe, much less still offer a V6 with a 6 speed manual, without a LSD, on a FWD midsize car.

Simple version: All other major manufactures have effectively dropped their midsize FWD coupes, or never made one. Honda chose to make a midsize FWD coupe even in face of plenty of RWD competition.
Super simple version:
Hyundai Genesis coupe
Chevy Camaro
Ford Mustang
All start at around the same price as the Accord coupe.
