Anyone catch the reference to a new "powerful" engine (absent the traditional "more powerful" label, which Honda can't say), and the description of the new "4-speed" automatic transmission (sans any mention of CVT) in this ad?

Also, can't say this is the new Accord's most photogenic pose, either. (I apologize for the pic, btw; I stole it from another thread.)

That seems like an ad for a much earlier generation of the Accord.

The fact that you mistook it for a modern-day Honda ad speaks to the fact that Honda was pretty darn advanced back in the day. If I remember correctly this was originally for the 4th generation Accord?

Actually, what drew me in was the first sentence of the ad: "There's a reason why more cars are looking more and more alike." I thought Honda was trying to lean into the fact that the 8th & 9th generations are similar to begin with, and particularly so in silhouette.

Yeah, bogus ad. It also makes reference to a "redesigned 4-wheel double wishbone suspension", which we know is now history with the 2013 Accord.
