2012 EX-L 4WD Navi added to Edmunds fleet, loaned from Honda. Wondering how they like it and what ticks them off...they always find something trivial.

Edmunds 1st fuel mileage update for the CRV. They put over 4000 miles on it and average 25.6. From reading the posts it spent a lot of time with one editor as she prepped for her wedding. Not outstanding but impressive considering the stop-n-go nature of running errands combined with lugging cargo.

With only 1100 miles on my CRV EX-L, I'm getting about 33 on the interstate between Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Around town....around 20 or so, but that's strictly "in town".
Still not bad for an compact SUV.

Now, Honda just needs to slide in a 2.5 liter, 201 horse, w.6 speed availability and everything is groovy!

Really great underbody shots of the CRV on Edmunds long-term update. The underbody aerodynamics are incredible compared to my 2005. I'm jealous.
Also didn't know about the front center jack point...cool. Have to check my old CRV and Accord for this. I wonder what other Hondas have it?
All this from an D-I-Y oil change post. Which they did too early.

The blue mark he comments on, on the drain plug indicates to honda who actually tightened it up - so if the thing was under-tightened by matching the color to the VIn, Honda can tell who was responsible. there are color markers all over the engine bay of every Honda - same reason.
he should use synthetic.

Pretty much everyone I have dealt with has it. It is nice to see that Honda hasn't lost their focus on ease of maintenance.

I didn't know this. Cool! Thanks, A77.

3k on my 2012 CR-V. Compared to the 2010 I had, this one easily gets 2-3 mpg better. I think it's a little faster also...once you kick off the eco button.
All 0w20 oil is synthetic according to my oil salesman neighbor
My dealer does the 0w20 oil change for $39.95 Why would you do it yourself?

Maybe to make sure you get the specified oil and not a cheaper substitute filled from a barrel. Some dealers do that. And that the filter is OEM Honda filter.
If the 39.95 is oil and filter and the oil is Mobil 1 0W20 or equivalent sounds like a good deal. Maybe do it yourself you would save you $10, depending on where you buy oil and filter??

A few times I've gotten an even better deal, $39.95 for oil change, multi-point inspection and tire rotation. Now that's a no-brainer, plus I get to see anything new that's come out. Honestly with the long oil change intervals of the current Hondas (7500-9000 miles, 7-9months) I feel better having them put it up on a lift and check it out.

The filter and drain plug location, with the small removable hatch, look extremely convenient and mess-free.
