oh of course it comes out a month after I get rid of my Si. This would have been an interesting little diversion...

I'm stoked.

Intro price @ $4500 with FP are supposedly ending this Friday.

Much much less than everyone was anticipating for years....

This kit is another big reason I stalled on the BRZ. Early dynos are putting up some very nice numbers too! Wee!

Absolutely FANTASTIC! I have been waiting for this for a long time now. I was stoked when I saw their final development video on Youtube not too long ago.

I think this may be in the future for my Si...

I know dynos vary, but it is interesting to note that those claimed figures are about identical to what Blacktrax got on their AP2 S2K, assuming Kraftwerks is quoting WHP.

I wonder what this will do to the drivetrain and lower engine. Also, you will need a new clutch which is labor intensive $$$.

I don't think there will be too many issues. There are quite a number of stock bottom end K20's running in the 400-450WHP range with no issues. The trannies seem to be OK north of 300WHP, as long as they aren't abused, and the lower torque output of the Kraftwerks unit will probably ease the stresses a bit compared to something that is producing huge amounts of torque off idle. To be honest, 240 lb-ft really isn't that much for this engine or transmission.

If you could do the clutch yourself, it wouldn't be so bad, but yes, or anyone hiring it out, it would be very expensive.

Has anyone tried this yet? Would this be worth the money and risk?

I need a change to my Si to enhance my FlashPro. It is either intake/header/exhaust or the Kraftwerks supercharger.

What do you guys think? Is this still a good kit since Oscar left Kraftwerks?

I don't know inside details, but I think this kit is a part of the reason he left Kraftwerks... He wanted to produce it a long time ago, and they didn't (he was right), and I know from previous comments in various places that was at least part of the rift that formed. However, I do believe that Oscar was still mostly responsible for the development of this kit, as it seems to have his extreme attention to detail, fitment, and reliability, where IMO Skunk2 usually does not.

However, as for you, IMO, it would be best to get a header first, because this kit will benefit greatly from the increased exhaust flow. If you do a few searches on 8thgencivic, there are a couple of threads on there. Plus, you have the added advantage of picking up anywhere from 12-20WHP from a decent header combo, and should make gains over most of the powerband. I would think that would keep you happy for a little while.

With a completely stock powertrain (other than this kit), one guy put down 314WHP and something like 200 lb-ft of torque. However, some of the kits that were tested with a good flowing exhaust, and little else, were putting down between 360-380WHP depending on the specifics of the setup, so there is a HUGE amount of power to be gained. Some of the cars had various other modifications like larger throttle bodies, but were stock for the most part.

Personally, I have been considering this kit, but I want a few more basic modifications first, such as a header. If it were me, I would go with something like a Skunk2 Alpha header, and then a Full-Race 3" catback exhaust. If you live in an emissions controlled area, then it gets a little more difficult. You could either put your stock manifold/cat back on, or you could find a header with a cat built in (Vibrant and CNT Racing are the only two I know of, and Vibrant just discontinued theirs;CNT's is rare and may also have been discontinued). The third option would be to get something like a Skunk2 alpha and modify the cat back to house the cat. This would allow you to also fit a test pipe if you want to run catless, but you would also have to cut up an exhaust...

I did think of a 4th option, which might make less power, but would probably be a lot more convenient... You could get something like a Comptech Shorty header, and a Random Technologies high flow cat. That would allow better flow, without the hassle, and without having to hack an exhaust, but output would be slightly lower.

There are several takers on 8thgen.com. VERY impressive results.

Some are running around 360WHP with stock exhaust components. With a good header and a tune, several are closer to 400WHP, and most are running low 13's with one car (with videos on Youtube) ran a 12.3 at something like 113MPH.

Search for "Kraftwerks Civic Si" on youtube for some videos.

I went with JR to be on the safer side. I don't want any engine/drivetrain surprises. Also you will be dealing with torque steer that you don't have stock. I wish the JR had an intercooler.
