Thanks, Jeff, for working with us these three sets of photos! They weren't easy to snag - especially on the first day. That involved 10+ hours of a hot desert stakeout. Thanks goodness I had an audiobook to listen to! Hope everyone is enjoying the scoops! And, thanks again Jeff and the Temple of VTEC for your continued support.

Thanks to you too.
But, those poor guys.. now they will forever be tainted by having their pictures posted on the "You've been outed by Brenda Priddy" Wall of Shame.
I dare say their next assignments will be testing 49cc scooters in Detroit, during January. ;-)
And, Death Valley... well, at least it wasn't August. I hope you got to drink some cold beers after all that SCORCHO time.

aren't all spy shots staged by Honda Motor Company?

You did? How did you make the connection? And, did you know I'm originally from the next city over - South Euclid?

Either they are and it's a fascinating marketing ploy aimed at car fans, or they aren't and it's a fascinating marketing ploy aimed at car fans. I've often thought a spy-shot shooter should camp out by the gate here:

Now, if only someone would develop a "Nurburgring Tester" De-Camo plugin for Photoshop. Convert the whitest of white and blackest of black to Redondo Red Pearl.

I agree this is a form of viral/grass roots marketing. The 2013 changes appear to be so evolutionary that the swirly paint and camo probably draw more attention than if they'd leave it off. If they did, 95% of the public would probably still think they were run of the mill Accords, especially if they've been driven hard and had lots of scuffs and scrapes in the paint. Make the paint on the nose and tail end caps mismatch the body, put a coffee can muffler on the back, and they'd be well-disguised as low-budget modded out used cars hardly anyone would notice. For added effect, take a ball peen hammer to the sides for simulated door dings.
Anyway, I don't think the "marketing conspiracy" goes as far as Brenda receiving a stipend from the auto companies; but I bet they certainly don't mind the free buzz her photos create. If the techs and engineers working with these cars are enthusiasts themselves, there probably isn't a lot of turnover in their profession, and they and the auto paparazzi by now may actually have formed some type of symbiotic pseudo-relationship. However, if those techs and engineers behaved like some celebrities being pursued by the paparazzi, it might make a good reality TV special: Lots of yelling and bleeped out language culminating in a Death Valley car chase with the "all-new soon to be introduced 2013 Accord". Have the paparazzi chasing in a rental car that happens to be the latest Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata, or Chevy Malibu (hey, maybe one of each!) that happen to overheat, die, and lose the Accord as it fades into the distance with a Death Valley sunset as a backdrop to the new, stylish, partially hidden glow of its LED tail lights. Now *that's* viral marketing. ;-)

I work right across from that building in Ann Arbor, and usually they transport the cars in trailor trucks, so it's difficult to see anything, unless you can develop a camera that can see inside the transporting trucks. :)

Honda has taken to using tractor trailers to transport cars to remote locations the same way NASCAR teams do.
I recall they did that with the Pilot.
