Any ideas on these tires?

I wanted to put the Michelins but Costco told me that they're back ordered (they gave me a rain check on the $75 coupon).

Meantime, the fellow told me that they have the BS Ecopia EP422s in stock and that there should be a BS $100 off coupon next week.

I dunno... the reviews of the EP422 worry me.. true many of those are the clueless types, but overall it seems like the Michelins are better liked.

Ideas?

I want a tire with better mileage than the original rock hard Dunlops but with the ride, grip and durability of the Michelin X's.

Why not going with ones of the Ultra High Performance All-Season category?

Are you looking for LRR?

Tony, Tire Rack is an excellent source of information for the tires you are considering.

I usually check TireRack and Consumer Reports. Between the two you should be able to make an informed decision.

I checked in there but some of the comments were inane... I mean someone was complaining about this tires falling off in blocks after 2500 miles.

And many put comments about the EP100 in lieu of the EP422. Different tires....

I want better mileage that the OEM Dunlops but with the ride, wear and handling of my current Michelin X's.

And, I specifically want to know about hybrid owners... the Prius folks seem to like both tires, but I did not see comments from folks that have had the tires for more than 40K miles.

I have the Michelin AS on my Hybrid, best tires I ever had.......I put 10,000 miles on them from April of last year to November of last year and they showed hardly any wear. Increased my MPG 3 to 5 ..........

I ended up with the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422s... put them last wednesday.

My mileage, right off the bat, is up 5 mpg... I saw an indicated 40.2 mpg one way run, which works out to an actual 42. Mind you, this is an average of 80mph on a freeway run... with your typical coastal and San Diego Cty hills -you'd call them mountains in the midwest.

Round trip on the first tank I got an overall of 40 mpg.. but that was with one of day of very heavy cross/head winds (40 mpg Santa Anas). I'm on the second tank (yes, loooong drives) and I can see that the tires are wearing in and the mileage is indeed popping up.

The feeling is different.. I'll write them up soon.

Yes. They ride very smooth, are quiet, are fuel efficient and handle rather well.

Of course, this is the hybrid size... I don't know what they will do in other sizes.

I was AMAZED on the difference from the OEM POS tires to the Michelin's........Smoother, quieter........no road noise.

Shortly after I got the new tires I took a job next to home.

I think that in the last three months I've driven maybe, maybe 800 miles tops. There are weeks when I don't have a car and I get chauffeured around and my only drive is the weekend Costco run which is like 14 miles round trip.
