The prominent arch over the front fender is still there. You can tell in the first picture (front 3/4 shot). I'm okay with that. It's at least something that makes the car stand out.

In my humble opinion, the styling of the RLX is too conservative, even staid. It lacks presence. The prominent arch in particular -- like the "pontoon" fender on Mercedes' E series -- will not be well received.

That front fender bulge is fine IMO. The only part I would spice up is the front end stying-- it needs to suit those fancy headlights. As a flagship it has to carry a strong design language (just not overdone).

The side crease that kinda just fades into the rear fenders is kinda lame too though. That's weak design.

Besides that, I wouldn't mind owning these if I were in the market for one.
