Mentioned this in another thread:

Also noticed the rear seats appear to be folded down (although this could just be an unfinished tester vehicle) - could Honda finally offer a hybrid sedan with fold down seats??!!

If Honda managed to package the battery in a way that does not compromise the seats or throw out the spare tire, I will be impressed.

No way to say for sure, but I think the rear bench just isn't there.

The 9G Civic Hybrid still doesn't have folding seats even with the compact LiIon pack. A plug-in Accord needs a larger pack... I don't see how Honda gets away with not making some sort of space or utility compromise.

Looking closely at the photo, it seems to me that the head rests are removed. The seat back is in place. There is a bunch of stuff piled up on the seat, maybe test equipment.

What is surprising about this is the Torrance location. I assumed that this technology was being developed in Japan, and in the past Honda has made their hybrid cars only in Japan. Maybe the engineers want to see how it works on California freeways?
