Honda touts a big % increase for the Civic Hybrid, but the number of units sold is tiny compared to the Prius.
Look at the drops for the Insight and CR-Z. Wow. And the ILX Hybrid will also be a niche vehicle.
Honda hybrids = a corporate embarrassment.

I remember when the Prius : insight ratio was running 8:1
Now the Prius : insight+CR-Z+Civic Hybrid is running 15:1

The recent Prius sales numbers are a little misleading if you compare them to last year's since they now encompass four models: liftback, c, v, and PHEV.
I couldn't find a complete breakdown for April, but the PHEV did outsell the Volt at 1,654 copies (source). You can find the March breakdown here.

The whole HWY MPG only advertising doesn't help either by tricking customers into thinking they will get 40 MPG overall. I'm not saying it's a lie, but to only quote HWY MPG is severely misleading to consumers.
I have heard so many people say that a veloster/elantra/cruze/civic will get better mpg than a CR-Z and even a Insight because they only quote "40MPG HWY".
But in real life the lame hybrids win the MPG battle (of course that doesn't mean that everything else about the cars is also better)

Honda has lost big time with Hybrids.
Don't know if Honda has any major plans to revive its hybrids.
It has already been left behind so much that even a 50+ mpg nextgen insight won't help much, since prius would have already moved much beyond that by that time (prius c already has 53mpg city EPA rating).
Honda really needs a major hybrid technology revival plan targeting atleast 55mpg for the nextgen insight.
Nextgen accord hybrid won't help much wrt sales since midsize sedan segment does'nt have much of hybrid market. The biggest hybrid segment is compact segment and Honda needs to rework in this segment.

There is a plan. The path that makes financial sense (IMA) didn't work out well for Honda. They will come out with a more complicated system.

With Americas Love for CUV's, if they released a Hybrid CRV I am certain it would be Hondas best selling Hybrid far and away. Most people I see driving Prius's are retirees I have noticed for some strange reason, interesting.
Hybrid CRV=Success no question.
Hybrid RDX=instead of ILX hybrid.
Just my 2 pennies,
B.

Honda marketing already makes a CR-V with an Eco button for you.

I guess Honda's hybrid production is running at capacity. You obviously need to look at the 'whole' picture.

It would be nice if you could base that statement on something.
Toyota leads the market in hybrids. Honda trails badly. That's the big picture.

Insight especially has missed its N.A. target by a ridiculous amount even with $4 gas. Something is clearly wrong here.

The hybrids didn't sell before the disasters, so that is one area you will not be able to blame.

Wow. Can anyone stop Toyota and the Prius brand?
