So this gets launched early 2013 as a 2014 model? If the TL & TSX stay on the 5 year cycle, this would mean that they will be all new the same model year.
Great for reinventing the brand but I hope that they tier that out later to keep things fresh.

Honda/Acura knows theres a great need to revamp much of their lineup and it sounds more and more like a mandate from the top. So I expect the new TLX about 6 months after the new Accord, like the RDX followed the CRV by almost 6. The next Accord should tell us a lot about the size of the next TLX and therefore the fate of the TSX. I expect they're both on the same cycle because they will become one model at that point. The danger is putting a style out there ahead of having customer response and having sales crash. We'll have to see how Acura fares.

how many times do we have to tell people that conrad said there's no plans to kill the TSX, Acura will go forward with a 4 model line up?

Acura will "forward" the line up with 4 sedans......but will they continue the line up through 2015 with 4 sedans? Everyone else has 3 sedans and one "*specialty" sedan, A4, A6 *A7 and A8......and so on with the others. Unless the TSX moves up in size to take the spot of the TL and the TL becomes an A7, BMW 6 4 door coupe or MB "C" Coupe sedan competitor......then one will be dropped.........That is my feeling.

That situation will change - Audi will have a 4 sedan line up as the A3 sedan debuts next year - very pretty. Likewise Mercedes with the B series sedan. BMW has the 1 series but its only a 2 door of course. But in Acura's case because the RLX tries to be both 5 and 7 series, and A6 and A8, does it really leave room for 2 sedans between the ILX and RLX? If the Euro Accord and NA Accord are the same, as widely believed we will get that as an Acura, but to replace the TSX or TL? Perhaps one or t'other needs to become the specialty item, like the A7 is, and replace the ZDX which needs to quietly die. So it becomes like a Specialty Edition-X.... No wait a minute, that won't work

Best leave the acronyms to marketing, but your point still stands.
Oo-er, sounds a bit rude, too!
