116/51 headed into the last day of the year (for Honda)...back to the 160 range combined.

Most every Civic, Accord, Pilot, Ody and about 25% of CRV's have production dates being kicked back 2 weeks on average. I have 250 cars set now to be produced by 2/15. This cannot end soon enough for any of us. We are still turning as much as we can as fast as we can but I can say I lost an easy 5 sales personally last month because of cars I couldn't get.

117 out for the month, broke 100 used as well so that will make the owner pretty happy. So will his flooring costs, or lack thereof.

In two weeks associates can start ordering cars again.

I wonder how long it will be before the used car lot is filled.

There are no Pilots (I have 5) and no Accords (I have 9) on the ground basically at all, I have no idea why but I bet the numbers later today end up reflecting it.

I've been putting lots of numbers on this thread, but it just came the time for a year graphical review.

Here you can put things into perspective, and hopefully understand the magnitude of the challenge Honda has endured during 2011, right when the company was finally recovering from the devastating 2008 Lehmann Crisis that saw nearly all its rivals dip into red numbers.

Guess the tremendous impact of the 2008 Crisis, as well as that of the 3/11 quake&tsunami, then the effect of Thai floods in November, are pretty clear. And btw, December saw all time production records for both NA and China, though with Thailand factory annihilated Asian production as a whole was down 20% on 2010, just as well as global production (-7.6%).

It still amazes me that Honda has been able to drive through all this while still remaining a profitable company. I'm not sure they'll be the one making most money, but I would say they are one of the most resilient large corporations on earth.

PS1: 100% represents the avg 2008 value pre-Lehmann crisis, i.e. what Honda describes as "pre-Lehmann level".

PS2: Graphs are made by me using World Honda website data. Most of it has been added manually so there might be small (but hopefully insignificant) errors here and there.

I guess either Honda executives have gone berserk, or contrary to popular TOV belief they actually expect to sell these many cars... (though certainly right now they are working their ass to get the dealer lots well fed again)

That is (I hope!) good news.

It looks like there must be a backlog of orders to satisfy.

We'll have to wait until much later in the year when it's all settled down a bit, in order to get a clearer picture.

But clearly they are doing something right in the USDM and the JDM.

PS1: Short notice for the apocalyptic guys enjoying March12 sales being down on Mar11. Just have a look at the production figures since the quake and understand there is not much room to build up inventory if you are selling 130k cars/month, even with one record after another. Again though, Honda is clearly building up that inventory as fast as they can, so sales will keep rising...

PS2: Again, that was more cars produced in NA than Toyota (without joint ventures), and nearly 3x Hyundai+Kia combined.

Still very few cars available for employees....

My wife's order for a 12 Civic EX Navi AT5 sedan was rejected... no cars.

Very few Civics with NAVI available.

No CRVs at all...

Only one TSX Wagon Tech... she ordered one just like it... hopefully we'll snag it.

Still don't know how long it will be to get new cars... used cars lotteries are heavily oversubscribed (meaning low odds of getting the car).

Which means that AHM is building cars, filling the pipelines and selling them... Associates are the butt end of supply.

More discussion on this topic has also been brought recently to TOV by direct Honda executive quotes.
