That ILX photo is interesting...why in the hell would they want that reflection right back at the C-Pillar? I thought a darker color would make the ILX look better, but I don't think it worked.

This car *might blow* up in Acura's face given the F/E ratings, packaging and visuals.

That's something I mentioned to Jeff:

"Cracking" mountain reflection along the flanks;

Undercarriage reflection.

Random highlighting reflections.

Sunset illuminates wheel wells and wheel gap.

No tire shine.

Is the high point of view meant to disguise something: front overhang, wheel gap, orange peel? Load it in a truck and park it in front of one of those "Advanced" corporate headquarters the Gen Yers are said to operate from - not the PebbleTech test bed.

As an "unveiling" first-impression set of photos these seem more Honda than "aspirational Acura." If these two vehicles truly represent a turning point for Acura then the images should certainly reflect this.

Look at what others do. Then top that. You only get one chance!

in 2012 do we still need to have a luxury or ... entry luxury car still have a wheel gap of a 4x4? this is a shame to say the least.

In the words of Stephen A. Smith ... "The unmitigated gall" of Acura to even allow for a luxury car to even look like this in a picture or on the stand is "asinine, asiten, asi......" .. u get the point.

it's a shame all over for this car with very few exceptions.
picture is horrible. color choice at the show is horrible.
at least show us what it can look like dressed up with options on a nice color. this really sucks.

Reminds me of an X6 in the rear. A noticeable step back from our first look:

To my credit, while most applauded, I attributed the smaller wheel-well gap to heavy testing equipment and larger-than-average occupants... haha

Funny how we forget our own news items here at TOV... that post in September is the production car, right down to the wheels. We didn't need those recent design patent filings to see the production front fascia... there it was on this website all along!

I think the camera lens in the stage shot is doing some strange things, though. Still, that gap...

I think none of us really think we are looking at a production car there. In this case, they showed a concept car on stage when they already had the production car built as evidenced by your news link, and...well, and now have the threads like this.

Come to think of it, this might be a strategic move as part of Acura's new mantra "This is no Boy Racer."

Or maybe they took it to heart when Neal accused them of lowering their cars for auto shows! haha

Come on guys, Honda/Acura have always had big wheel gaps [even a standard height NSX v1 has a big wheel gap!] I don't understand why you all act surprised when the next new model comes out, and SURPRISE, it has a big wheel gap. It's becoming boring................

Having said that that shot on the stand, taken from a lower than normal height isn't helping it any :)

You need to look at the positive: from this angle you can't see Acura's now trademark buck-tooth/overbite grille.

whoa, it's like page 6 of F1 magazine.

If people wouldn't drive their cars through San Fran like the guy in the Matthew Broderick commercial, they wouldn't need that wheel gap (or like in the road up to my house).

Why the surprise. This is par for the course?
