Retro-mod-future-forward. And beautiful.
In the sea of "Big Game" screaming and shallowness, consider a moment of thoughtfulness, class, heritage and possibilities.
Instead, we get munchkins and jetpacks.

Unless you knew something we didn't when you said Honda should have used the GT footage...I am impressed.

Just my opinion....."Class, thoughfulness, heritage and possibilities" aren't memorable to SuperBowl viewers while having a very recognizable celebrities who made careers out of being comedians is memorable. At the end of the day, if you aren't memorable you aren't relevant to a Superbowl audience and your commerical will suck when compared to the other commercials being viewed. I'm not a marketing ad genius nor am I in advertising but I do know that Acura needs to be memorable if they're to be relevant in the company of SuperBowl commercials. Acura can show them the heritage and smart luxury commercials during American Idol and Survivor later in the year.

"Class, thoughfulness, heritage and possibilities." Those programs you mention are certainly the places for this...
There are better ways to be "memorable."

Corny and just plain goofy can be fun, and memorable. As long as they don't rely on those tactics alone to sell a flagship supercar, I think it will be fine as an attention getting device. Leno's maniacal laughter is hilarious in my opinion. And you KNOW he really will be one of the first in line to get the new NSX when it is available. He might have even used that in the negotiations to do the commercial. I know I would.

I really doubt the majority of people watching Superbowl care about heritage or possibilities. Everything today is whats hot now and I want one. I think its definitely more memorable with all of that then if they were to show video of history.
