Installation Continued
  1. Mount the new reservoir onto the car using ONLY the (2) side 10mm bolts for now; we will insert the bottom bolt later. Make sure to securely insert the upper fill tube into the tank. Ensure the (2) bolts are securely tightened (not too tight, it's only plastic).

New Reservoir Mounted & Connections Made

  2. Connect the wires for the fluid pumps. The blue plug attaches to the rear pump (nearest the rear of the car), and the brown to the front.
  3. Attach the fluid feeder lines to the fluid pumps. Again, the pump closest to the rear of the car is the rear window pump, and consequently attaches to the tube going towards the rear of the car (not into the engine compartment).

    Installing Throttle Body Coupler

  4. After ensuring the blue 3" throttle body coupling sleeve is clean, slide it onto the throttle body. Leave the sleeve approximately 2mm from being completely on the throttle body or else the new intake tube will not fit inside completely. Slide the (2) large hose clamps onto this sleeve and tighten one around the throttle body, securing the sleeve. Leave the other loose and able to rotate freely around the sleeve.
  5. Inspect the route the new intake tube will take. It will attach to the throttle body, slide between the upper radiator hose and throttle body, in front of the transmission, to the driver's side of the ground wire, and through where the fenderwell lining was located, placing the filter just behind the front bumper.
  6. Remove the galvanized silver bolt at the front of the car holding the A/C refrigerant tube to the bracket. This will be needed to allow the A/C refrigerant tube some mobility when installing the new intake tube.

New Intake Tube & Filter Installed

  7. Leaving the plastic wrap around the DC Sports intake tube, slowly and gently slide the new intake tube into the engine bay following the path you have just inspected. Be sure to watch for snagging on the (2) throttle cables, transmission ground wire, upper radiator hose, and transmission. Once you can reach the tube, guide it both from the top down with your left hand, and use your right hand to position and rotate it into the fenderwell area.
  8. Slide the new intake tube into the sleeve on the throttle body. You may slightly tighten the hose clamp, but not completely, as the intake tube will need to be adjusted.
  9. Reinstall the galvenized bolt that holds the A/C refrigerant tube to it's bracket.
  10. Install the air filter and hose clamp onto the end of the new intake tube. Do not tighten the hose clamp.

    Filter Support Bracket

  11. Build the filter support bracket per the picture provided by DC Sports' instructions (DC Sports Fig. 5). Install this bracket between the new bottom washer fluid reservoir bolt (supplied from DC Sports) and the air filter hose clamp. The picture above should have the angled metal piece physically between the filter hose clamp and the filter (DC Sports Fig. 4).
  12. Tighten the air filter hose clamp.
  13. With your right hand pushing the intake tube towards the front of the car from above the engine compartment, tighten the second hose clamp on the throttle body sleeve to secure the intake tube.

    Shift Linkage Clearance

  14. Attempt to shift the transmission into 1st, 3rd, and 5th gears. If there is no resistance, proceed to step 26. Otherwise, leave the car in 3rd gear, as the intake tube is making contact with the shift linkage. Loosen the hose clamp you tightened in step 24. Push the intake tube as far towards the front of the car as possible and tighten the hose clamp while keeping this force on the tube.

New Hoses & IAT Sensor Installed

  15. Use your mouth to blow air through the 3/4" diameter, 18" length blue valvecover breather hose to ensure it is clean. Slide the (2) small hose clamps onto the tube and slide the tube onto the valvecover breather pipe. Tighten the hose clamp. Slide the other end of this tube onto the intake tube and tighten the other hose clamp.
  16. Slide one end of the 1/2" diameter, 11.5" length blue vacuum hose onto the vacuum hose connection, and the other end onto the intake tube.
  17. Slide the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor completely into the fitting on the intake tube.
  18. Reinstall the i-VTEC cover.

Fenderwell Lining Trimmed & Wheel Installed

  19. Trim the fenderwell lining. This is best done by attempting to reinstall it and noting what areas need to be trimmed. Trim little by little, trying to re-fit the lining after each trim. I used a Dremel tool to cut the plastic fenderwell lining.
  20. Once the fenderwell trim is modified, reinstall it using the clips and screws removed earlier.
  21. Reinstall the front driver's side wheel.
  22. Lower the car from the jackstands.
  23. Torque the wheel lug nuts in the correct pattern and to their specified 80 ft./lbs.
  24. In the underhood fuse box, use the fuse puller to remove the 7.5A fuse labeled on the cover as BACKUP. Count to 30 seconds and reinstall the fuse. This will reset the ECU so it will learn the new fuel maps more quickly. Note: Make sure you have your radio security code before doing this.
