For 2006 the MX-5 has grown in several ways. Up noticeably are engine displacement, power (170hp@6700 RPM), and torque (140lb-ft@5,000 RPM), interior room has grown, yet thankfully curb weight has increased only by about 10kg (22lbs). I've only driven the car about 40 miles so far, and so far I'm liking it quite a bit, but I'll fill you in on the details in a later report.
I did a quick Google search and couldn't find any dyno results for the all-new 2006 Mazda MX-5, so we may have an exclusive here. Special thanks again to Dynolab in Marietta, GA. I popped by unplanned and unnannounced and Arthur managed to fit me in to his schedule. Since this was unplanned, I didn't bring my usual raft of video and photography gear, but I did happen to have one of my still cameras with me, so I got a few exposures of the 2006 Winning Blue Don't-Call-Me-A-Miata MX-5.
